Cut The Mustard
Privacy policy
How we handle your personal data
Who we are
Cut The Mustard is a live function band based in the UK. We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website and when you book us.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, email address, phone number, event date, event type, venue, approximate guest numbers and anything you write in your message.
- Booking details once you book us: the names of the people getting married or hosting, venue contacts, timings, song choices and invoicing details.
- Basic technical data needed to keep the site secure and to block spam, such as your IP address and browser type.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote.
- To plan, confirm and perform at your event, including sharing timings and set lists with the musicians playing on the day.
- To issue invoices and keep the accounting records we are required to keep by law.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse.
We rely on our contract with you (or the steps needed to enter into it) and on our legitimate interest in running the band as the legal basis for this. We never sell your details or use them for marketing you have not asked for.
Where it is stored and who sees it
Enquiries and bookings are stored in a database hosted in the European Union (Supabase, Ireland). Emails are sent through Resend from EU servers and the website is served by Vercel. Only the members of the band, and any deputy musician we bring in for your event, can see your details, and only what they need to do the job.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: deleted twelve months after the event date you enquired about.
- Bookings and invoices: kept for six years after the event, which is the period HMRC requires for business records.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
